Excellent understanding of training methods used in working with thedevelopmentally disabled required.
Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
Must be able to negotiate several flights of stairs during a shift.
Must be able to complete training to operate/assist with a Hoya lift andother mechanical devices for safe handling of consumers.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------Essential Functions/
Responsibilities:
Provide transportation for consumers as needed for appointments, errands,and outings.
Use of personal vehicle may be required.
Work assigned shifts, weekends, holidays, and overnight as scheduled.
Document BLS groups and all clinical notes in accordance with agency policesand within 24 hours.
Bathe, feed, dress, and ambulate clients to ensure proper grooming.
Conduct food inventory twice weekly and as assigned by supervisor.
Dispose of expired food.
Conduct supplies inventory.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, wipe down surfaces, general cleaning of facility,and all other janitorial duties assigned.
Conduct client trainings as assigned by supervisor.
Pick-up client prescriptions from pharmacy.
Accompany clients to appointments.
Ensure all receipts and monies are returned to supervisor immediately afterouting(s).
Cook and provide meals according to diet and posted menu.
Maintain communication and awareness of current events by reading memos,e-mails, bulletin boards, and communication logs.
Work independently and/or with teams to complete assigned tasks accuratelyand in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
Support Organizational Code of Conduct, Standards Compliance, HIPAA andSecurity Programs by ensuring job tasks are performed in a legal and ethicalmanner, assessing the work area for non-compliance and notifying the supervisor,manager, Executive Director or designee as appropriate, and maintaining trainingrequirements and understanding that training is a required condition ofemployment.
Maintain the confidential nature of all consumer and Organization relatedactivities by not divulging information outside the facility, discussinginformation within the facility on a need-to-know basis, acknowledging policyannually by signing confidentiality statement, and by referring media andgeneral inquiries to the Executive Director.
Adhere to attendance and punctuality policy by allowing adequate time toarrive, clock-in and assume responsibilities at designated time, adhering tomeal and break times and making timely requests for annual leave and reportingthe need for sick leave in accordance with policy.
Comply with all standardsrelated to safety and health by maintaining current TB Test, CPR/First Aid, CPI,and by reporting infections and on-the-job injuries in accordance withpolicy.
Identify opportunities for improving the quality of services provided by thedepartment and the organization.
All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor orExecutive Director.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience working with consumers with mental illness and/or developmentaldisabilities preferred.
One (1) year experience in a mental health setting preferred.
Current Alabama driver's license and good driving record as defined byIndian Rivers' policy.
Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.

Working Conditions:
Works in residential facilities; may require longhours.
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicateand interact with other employees, consumers and the public through the use ofthe telephone and personal contact.
Physical capability to effectively use andoperate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to,computer, copier, multi-line phone and fax machine.
Must be able to lift fifty(50) pounds and negotiate several sets of stairs in an eight (8) hour shift.
Some risk involved in the event of aggressive/out-of-control consumers.
Mustpossess a valid Alabama driver's license.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
